PENTAX is now one of the few manufacturers to continue the tradition of single-lens reflex cameras. Since 1919, the year Asahi Optical was founded, and the first domestically produced single-lens reflex camera in 1952, we have developed numerous innovations in the history of cameras and created a base where many people in the world are familiar with photography and enjoy taking pictures.

We will continue to shape the new future of SLR cameras for people who are passionate and enjoy the pleasure and depth of photography as an important pursuit that enriches their lives and enjoy the shooting process in a special way.

In today's world, where it is no longer the norm to have a camera in every household, the value that discerning photography enthusiasts look for in a camera is becoming more diverse. For example, many photographers use different cameras depending on their subject and requirements, or depending on the mood of the day, and there are many reasons for their choice.

Until now, we have made products that satisfy the needs of as many people as possible. But due to limitations in product design and mass production, we have not been able to meet many needs.
Our desire is to create opportunities to respond to interesting requests and turn them into products.
With the PENTAX K-3 III JET BLACK, we have taken such a path.
As part of a crowd-funding campaign, we offered a camera that was difficult to realise as a mass model.
A black housing for SLR cameras is considered normal. However, it has not been completely black until now. With the special model of the PENTAX K-3 III JET BLACK we have now gone one step further. In addition to the black housing, the button lettering and brand name have also been kept in a dark colour.

Some photographers hide the logos of their cameras with black tape because they don't want the camera brand or model name to stand out.
Or, for those photographers who have customised the button function to suit their own use and preferences, the function icon of the default setting does not jump out at them now that the function no longer corresponds to the original role.

Of course, it is undeniable that many people are looking for good visibility and clarity, but it was worth a try to make the brand logo and control panel black and less conspicuous.

The result is the unique design of the PENTAX K-3 III JET BLACK.

A truly black model, unlike any other SLR camera.

■ The black brand logo on the black body of the PENTAX K-3 Mark III creates an effect that strongly influences the impression of the camera's body design. It is not simply unpainted but is painted black.

■ The model name logo is printed in anthracite black. By using this exquisite colour, it stands out against the housing when illuminated appropriately.

■ Many operating elements, such as the cross keys or function descriptions, are also printed in unobtrusive anthracite black. Which are nevertheless recognisable due to the contrast to the background.

Some inscriptions, e.g. on the mode dial, have been coloured in black and thus stand out from the colour of the control element.

■ The "SR (Shake Reduction)" badge, which indicates the built-in image stabilisation function, and the strap attachment rings are also black.

In the overall design, we did not simply reduce the number of painted and printed parts, but replaced them with appropriate paint.
By paying a lot of attention to the smallest details, we were able to create a true black camera body that becomes one with the darkness.
