Exceptional Image Quality

The PENTAX K-1 Mark II is built to provide outstanding image quality. This 35mm full-frame DSLR combines enhanced performance at extremely high sensitivities with ergonomics tailored for a wide range of subjects and scenes.

At its core, a new accelerator unit paired with the PRIME IV imaging processor optimizes data from the 36-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor, which lacks an anti-aliasing filter. The result: exceptionally high-resolution images with controlled noise up to an ISO of 819,200, while retaining PENTAX’s signature color rendering.

Pixel Shift Resolution II: More Detail, Less Noise

PENTAX’s Pixel Shift Resolution technology, which uses vibration reduction mechanisms to capture multiple images and combine them into one, has been significantly improved in the PENTAX K-1 Mark II. The Pixel Shift Resolution II captures RGB data for each pixel, producing ultra-high-resolution images with finer details and more accurate colors.

The new Dynamic Pixel Shift Resolution mode, compatible with handheld shooting, offers an innovative solution for high-sensitivity photography without a tripod. This mode ensures sharp, detailed images even when the subject is slightly moving during rapid burst shooting.

Built-In Shake Reduction

The PENTAX K-1 Mark II’s SR II stabilization system provides 5-axis vibration reduction. This image stabilization system enables sharp photos at slower shutter speeds, minimizing blur caused by camera movement. With up to 5 stops of compensation, the shake reduction system is especially useful in low-light conditions and optimizes results even in macro photography.

Additionally, the camera features an anti-aliasing (AA) filter simulator, which effectively reduces moiré and color artifacts. Users can adjust the intensity of this effect for each scene, based on their needs.

Fully Articulating LCD for Optimal Flexibility

The PENTAX K-1 Mark II includes a 3.2-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1,037,000 dots. This large screen can be tilted horizontally, vertically, and even diagonally, allowing for more flexible shooting angles. The screen also features anti-reflective coating and adjustable brightness for excellent visibility in bright or dim environments.

For nighttime photography, the red-light display function reduces screen brightness to preserve the photographer’s night vision.

Optical Viewfinder with Nearly 100% Field of View

The PENTAX K-1 Mark II’s optical viewfinder offers a 100% field of view, ensuring a complete and accurate representation of the scene. Optimized for a 35mm full-frame DSLR, it provides approximately 0.7x magnification, enabling precise composition and focus confirmation.

The Natural Bright Matte III focusing screen enhances manual focusing, while a transparent overlay displays various useful information directly in the viewfinder for a smoother shooting experience.

Enhanced Burst Performance

The PENTAX K-1 Mark II can shoot continuous bursts of up to 17 RAW images or 70 JPEGs at 4.4 frames per second. When cropped to APS-C format, the burst speed increases to 6.4 frames per second, ideal for capturing fast-moving subjects with high responsiveness.

Advanced mechanisms, including a mirror shock absorber and a high-speed data transmission system, ensure smooth and precise continuous shooting.

Durable, Weather-Resistant Body

The PENTAX K-1 Mark II features a magnesium-alloy body, combining lightweight construction with durability. With 87 weather seals, the camera is resistant to dust, moisture, and temperatures as low as -10°C, making it a reliable choice for professionals and adventurers in challenging conditions.

Full HD Video Recording and More

The PENTAX K-1 Mark II supports Full HD video recording (1920 x 1080 pixels) at 60i or 30p. It also includes ports for an external stereo microphone and headphones, providing complete control over audio quality. Additionally, the interval video mode captures 4K clips (3840 x 2160 pixels), adding a creative dimension to video projects.

Built-In GPS Module for Precise Geolocation

The integrated GPS module allows the PENTAX K-1 Mark II to record precise location data, including longitude, latitude, altitude, and UTC time at the moment of capture. This module is also compatible with tools like GPS logging to track the photographer's movements, and the ASTRO TRACER system, which uses GPS data to compensate for Earth’s rotation during astrophotography.
