"A very easy lens to use, with a natural perspective and a rendering that feels effortless and complete. Its tonal transitions are smooth and continuous, creating images that are calm and balanced. While it may not impress at first like the 31mm, it reveals a deep and lasting satisfaction over time. A lens that I can carry everywhere and rely on without thinking. This compact lightweight, almost invisible lens, with its balanced focal length, is there, ready for any occasion."
"A very easy-to-use, classic, and beautifully rendering lens. Its performance with the K-3 monochrome is excellent, on par with the 31mm Limited. A lens I want to carry with me at all times."
"The lens is soft below f4. Corners and margins are soft even above f4. No weather sealing. Pentax needs to work on this lens to improve ittechnically. Other than that it is a nice piece of equipment keeping in view that it was manufactured way back. . . I also understand it was made not just for sharpness but something else . . . portability and unique rendering. . Personally i prefer fuji 35mm f2 and 50mm f2 lenses which are far superior in every aspect. . . ."
"Very very nice, use the lens for concert, street and landscape photography. Great!"
"Im very casual amateur about photography, but the lens is very compact and just pleasure to use on K1ii and most importantly wife's loving the family photos ive taken with it, so im one content buyer. If i really had to find some negatives, id wish it could be WR, silent drive (non-screw) and have quickfocus . . . but as this is couple decades old classic design, it find it wrong to fault it for lacking them. Still if there will be future version of the lens in future, those would be on my wish list."
