smc DA 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 ED AL [IF] DC WR

A zoom lens for use with K-mount APS-C-format digital SLR cameras, with a wide zoom range for universal use

The smc DA 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 ED AL [IF] DC WR is a standard zoom lens that is ideal as basic equipment for PENTAX cameras with APS-C sensor.

With a 35 mm - 35 mm sensor equivalent focal length range of 27.5 to 207 mm, this 7.5x zoom lens covers a very universal range from wide angle to telephoto. This makes it suitable for a wide range of typical shooting situations, from landscapes to snapshots and portraits to sporting events.
It features a modern optical design that allows high magnification in a compact and lightweight body, making it a suitable lens for everyday use.

High imaging performance

The optical system uses an ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass and an aspherical hybrid lens (AL) and an aspherical glass moulding lens. This system enables correction of various types of aberrations and high imaging performance in a compact body.

This lens uses a circular iris diaphragm that equally eliminates stray light when shooting point light sources, and provides a more natural blur effect (bokeh).

Internal lens motor for smooth autofocus operation

A DC motor for the autofocus (AF) incorporated within the lens enables smooth autofocus operation.
A non-rotating mechanism is also used for locking the focus ring during autofocus so that the lens is held in the same position as manual focus.

The compatible models are the K-70/K-1/K-3II/K-3/K-S2/K-S1/K-50/K-30/K-5 II/K-5IIs/K-5/K-01/K-7/K-r/K-x/K-m/K20D/K200D/K10D FW Ver.1.30/K100D Super.
If attached to other cameras, focusing is performed using the manual focus.

Simple drip-proof construction

This lens uses a simple drip-proof construction for preventing water from getting inside the lens. Combined with PENTAX digital SLR cameras also using a drip-proof construction enables use in rainy or foggy conditions, or other locations exposed to water for enhanced durability and reliability.

More Features

  • Quick-Shift Focus System
After focusing using the autofocus, the focus ring can be turned to allow immediate focus adjustment using the manual focus.
This feature enables smooth operability by eliminating the need for an AF/MF switching operation. This is useful during closeup photography, for instance, when you want to shoot while making fine adjustments to the focus

  • SP (Super Protect) Coating

SP coating is a PENTAX-original special coating that provides superior performance in repelling water and oils. It is used on the front surface of the first high-performance lens for effective protection of the lens surface. This coating not only prevents adhesion of dust, water drops, oils, and other substances, but it also makes it easy to wipe off objects that adhere to the lens.

A lens surface treated with SP Coating can be wiped clean more easily and completely, even after the ink has dried.
