"Great starter/mid binoculars for basic use. I bought these for my wife as she likes the compact design. The 8x magnification is great for finding/tracking subjects and then get finer detail at the higher magnifications. Whilst this is at the 2026 reduced prices then get a bargain. Pentax optics are always clear and useful for strolling / walked-up use and we even used it in a bird hide successfully. The lightness of this model also pays dividends on nature walks etc, and though these don’t focus as close as their Papilio siblings, they focus close enough for great garden use. Expect to lose some brightness at higher magnifications but this is not an issue during daylight hours. Note: be prepared to refocus when changinging magnification points. They are worth 5 stars at the £50 a pair that I paid and probably 4 stars at their usual price. Its worth stating that I was so pleased that I bought more pairs for when my grandchildren are ready for a better set of binoculars."
